  • Laurel Archer

    PRESIDENT

    Laurel has been enjoying Osoyoos for over 30 years. She became an owner at Spirit Ridge in 2015 and was first elected to the SROA Board of Directors in 2019. Spirit Ridge has become a second “home” to Laurel, Fred, and their dog Piper.

    Recently retired from a career in Nursing and Clinical Operations Management, Laurel is definitely enjoying a more relaxed lifestyle these days.

  • Bryan Ewart

    VICE PRESIDENT

    Bryan and his wife Tammy have been visiting Spirit Ridge with their family since 2013. In June 2020 they became owners and have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

    Bryan is the General Manager at Osoyoos Golf Club and loves the local wines and the farm to table restaurants available in the South Okanagan.

  • Jeff Garrad

    PAST PRESIDENT

    Jeff is a Certified Professional Accountant with over 25 year experience working in senior financial management roles. He is currently the Head of Finance for the 2025 Invictus Games to be held in Vancouver and Whistler. Jeff is an active volunteer and has served on a number of Board for community, not-for-profit, and professional organizations.

    Jeff and his wife Alison have been owners at Spirit Ridge since 2015, and enjoy spending time at this special place every year.

  • Roland Schmidt

    CHAIR, GOVERNANCE

    Roland is the proud owner of a family-run mechanical contracting company in Vancouver, established in 1976. He enjoys quality time with his family, playing the drums, skiing, paddle boarding, and engaging in various outdoor activities. 

    For 35 years, Roland and his family have vacationed in Osoyoos each summer, becoming owners at Spirit Ridge in 2005. He is a former board member and currently serves on three additional boards across B.C. His company actively supports local sports programs, charities, and other philanthropic endeavours. 

    Roland and his family—his wife, children, and grandbabies—always look forward to their cherished time at Spirit Ridge!

  • Ray Werger

    TREASURER

    Ray has been a professional Realtor since 1992 and has served on several Boards: Past President, Fraser Valley Real Estate Board 2014; Co-Founder & GM of the Fraser Valley Phantom Female Midget AAA Hockey Team, and PAC Chair & Treasurer, Fairview Elementary School.
    Ray grew up in the Okanagan Valley, while his wife Dana, grew up in Prince Rupert. Having a vacation home at Spirit Ridge is their compromise and they both love to have a family retreat in the south Okanagan.

  • David Stange

    CHAIR, OWNER RELATIONS

    David and his wife have been owners at Spirit Ridge since 2021. They currently reside in the Lower Mainland.
    David works in the field of Information Governance for a provincial union. In his free time he enjoys running, hiking skiing, and golf as well as volunteering in the community.

  • Daniel Bibby

    SPIRIT RIDGE, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

    Daniel has been the Executive Director of Spirit Ridge since March 2017. He also held the role of General Manager for the first six years, but has now stepped back from the day to day operations and supports the resort on a part time basis. He was very involved with converting our signature resort to an Unbound Collection by Hyatt property.

    Daniel is the current Chair of Destination Osoyoos. His career in the hospitality industry started over forty years ago, and he has been highly involved in tourism in the Okanagan for the past sixteen years.

  • Amrut Misra

    SPIRIT RIDGE, GENERAL MANAGER

    Amrut joined the team at Spirit Ridge as General Manager May 1st, 2023. He has brought a wealth of experience to this role, has been with Hyatt for almost 20 years in four different properties. Amrut’s prior experience includes: Director of Operations at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa, Assistant Director of Guest Experience and Operations and Director of Outlets at Hyatt Regency Calgary, and Assistant Director of Food and Beverage at Grand Hyatt Mumbai.

    Amrut obtained his Hospitality Management Degree from Robert Gordon University in UK, and MBA from University of Wales Institute Cardiff in UK. In 2017, he was awarded the Hyatt Leader of the Year.

  • Deanna Dempsey

    SPIRIT RIDGE, OWNER RELATIONS MANAGER

    Deanna has been a valued member of the Spirit Ridge team since May 2016, bringing a wealth of experience and a deep passion for building meaningful relationships with owners. Her dedication to exceptional service and fostering connections has made her a trusted and approachable leader within the resort.

    Outside of work, Deanna enjoys the beauty and lifestyle of Osoyoos with her husband, David, and their three active children. Whether volunteering with local community groups or supporting her children’s many activities, Deanna cherishes the balance of family life, and the close-knit community Spirit Ridge offers.

Spirit Ridge Owner Association Committees

Most of the work of the Board of Directors happens at a committee level. Any member of the SROA can join a committee; an owner does not need to be on the Board of Directors to participate. If you are interested in joining one of our committees, please contact us.

Finance Committee: This committee was formed to work with the Spirit Ridge financial team in developing financial plans and review the financial health of the resort.

Governance Committee: This committee was formed to look at legal issues, including Strata Bylaws, the BC Society Act, the Rental Management Agreement, and other governance issues.

Owner Relations Committee: This committee was formed to support the Owner Relations Director, to ensure that owners feel engaged, and to look at ways to enhance the member experience. This committee does not perform the duties related to owner reservations etc.

Executive Director Committee: This committee was formed to perform an annual performance review and to ensure that the board is supporting the Executive Director in his duties.
